The 1PWR Zambia Mini-grids Project is a transformational €8 million initiative bringing clean, reliable electricity to over 50,000 rural Zambians for the first time. The portfolio encompasses 24 strategically selected sites featuring 2.5MW of solar photovoltaic capacity and 7.5MWh of battery storage, designed to serve approximately 10,000 connections including homes, small businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities. With key regulatory approvals secured, community agreements signed, and technical designs completed, the project is positioned for phased construction and commissioning from 2025 to 2027.
