We are glad to announce that OnePower signed a grant agreement with the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) for project preparation studies for the Neo 1 project. The signing ceremony was held on May 23 in Maseru with US Ambassador Rebecca Gonzales, OnePower CEO Matthew Orosz, and former Minister of Energy and current Minister of Home Affairs Mokoto Hloale.
The $600,000 grant will finance several studies required for project preparation, including a technical and economic analysis of the project, a local electrification plan, and contract support. The contractor for this project is CDM International Inc. (CDM Smith), a US firm based in Boston, Massachusetts with significant experience in international projects.
We would like to thank USTDA for providing this grant for the Neo 1 project and for supporting OnePower’s mission to develop clean and reliable solar power in Lesotho.
We also look forward to working with the talented team of CDM Smith to finalize the project preparation of the Neo 1 project.
